The iconic duo recalled a “bad” appearance by Christina Aguilera on the popular kids show. Ant McPartlin, Dec Donnelly and Cat Deeley hosted the program, which lasted from 1998 to 2003 and was broadcast on ITV in the UK.
The show was known for its range of humorous skits and fun challenges, as well as celebrity guests.
The pair claimed that Christina Aguilera’s interview was the worst they’d ever done since she was not in the right mood for the show, wore sunglasses, and wouldn’t do it live.
Ant revealed: “She sat there in her shades, and wouldn’t take them off. It was a pre-recorded interview because she didn’t want to do it live.
“Everything pointed towards it being a bad interview. And it turned out to be a bad interview,” he confessed to Huffington Post in a joint interview with Dec.
The presenting duo then went on to recall other A-list celebrities who were a bit difficult to deal with behind-the-scenes.
One of them was Jennifer Lopez, who Dec described as making a “big old stink” around the studio. He did admit she was lovely, but it was her demanding diva-like attitude that bothered him.
Dec said: “I remember Jennifer Lopez coming down, and seeing that whole thing about having six dressing rooms and room temperature Evian – all the riders and stuff.
“She was really lovely, but yeah, it was a big old stink around the studio, ‘she needs this, she needs that’. We had very few bad celebs, but we had a lot of entertaining riders and stuff.”
Despite some of the guests not being so easy to work with, Ant and Dec did have some great ones.
“The first kind of big guest we had on was Sting,” Ant shared.
“I think he agreed to do it because we were Geordies.”
He continued: “And as soon as we got him, other people started saying, ‘oh if Sting’s been in it, then I’ll do it’. And in the end, everybody who was anybody was on the show.”

Dec, who agreed, chimed in: “There were a few weeks where I think we had, in succession, Blur, U2, Paul McCartney.
“We were sat interviewing Paul McCartney – and that was a proper ‘pinch me’ moment. We’d come from hardly anybody watching it, and there we were with a Beatle. I couldn’t believe it.”
Ant and Dec first came to public attention when they appeared in the CBBC programme Byker Grove in the early 1990s.
The two later released their hit single “Let’s Get Ready to Rhumble” as PJ and Duncan, their fictional identities.
Since then, Ant and Dec have grown to be two of the most renowned and adored TV hosts in the country, hosting shows like I’m a Celeb, Britain’s Got Talent, Saturday Night Takeaway, and others.
Recently, Ant has been seen hanging out with wife Annie-Marie Corbett as they enjoyed a shopping trip together.
It comes after Ant and Dec took their wives out on a double date in Wembley.
The two Geordies treated their partners to cheering on Newcastle United in the Carabao Cup.
They were seen lining up outside the stadium with the rest of the public.
