Alison Hammond has moved fans to tears after uploading an inspiring post about body positivity.

The 44 year old is currently embarking on a weight loss journey as an ambassador for WW (formerly known as Weight Watchers).

As part of her role, the This Morning favourite has taken to Instagram to share a message to her 452,000 followers.

Alison says to her fans in the clip: "We are not ornaments, we are instruments.

"Find your instrument, because your instrument is amazing. It's powerful, use it. You are amazing."

Reiterating her point, Alison wrote in the lengthy caption: "When it comes to our bodies, try thinking of them on this level!

"Our bodies are not simply to be looked at – they can do so much more than that!

"We stop doing the things in life which make us happy, because we view them like 'ornaments' and not 'instruments'.

"Our bodies are so fantastic, so get validation from what your body CAN DO, and not what they look like!"

She continued: "We discussed this in depth at @candicebrathwaite 's #WWxTeaTime Live a few weeks ago.

"I learnt that friends are more likely to make a comment on someone’s appearance with 1 in 4 (25%) saying their peers have made remarks about their body in the past year.

"Don't be that friend! Appreciate everyone's body's for that they can do like @ww.uk, who encourage body acceptance and supports body positivity at any size."

Alison's fans rushed to the comments section of the post to thank her for her words, with one writing: "this just made me cry. Such a true statement: thank you so much."

Others told the star her message was "well said," as more called her "beautiful."

Her inspiring message comes just days after it was reported Alison had landed her very own chat show on ITV.

After interviewing some of Hollywood's biggest names for This Morning, hosted by Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby, now is the time for Alison to get the likes of Harrison Ford, Ryan Gosling and Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson on her own sofa.

According to The Sun, ITV have given the green light for a new hour long chat show called Alison Hammond's Happy Hour, which will see her interview her celebrity pals and other special guests.

Much like This Morning, former Big Brother star Alison's show will also feature makeovers and fun lifestyle segments.

After finding a new found love of fitness in her role as an ambassador for WW, the show will also air exercise regimes.

Her friends from This Morning and Loose Women — which she is an occasional panellist on — are already being lined up to appear on the show, the publication goes on to report.

A source told them: "Producers have been increasingly impressed with Alison’s comic timing and prowess at interviewing stars.

"Her down-to-earth and quick-witted personality have made her a hit with viewers and producers think she’s ready for the limelight."
