Reese Witherspoon enjoyed her “shortest Emmys commute yet” for the 2020 Emmy Awards, but she didn’t skimp on the beauty prep just because she’d be calling in from home this year. In the comfort of her own backyard, Witherspoon got Emmys ready with the help of her full glam squad, makeup artist Kelsey Deenihan, hairstylist Lona Vigi, and stylist Petra Flannery.
On her Instagram Story, Witherspoon shared exactly what getting ready for an award show amid a pandemic looks like: face masks (the cloth kind), hand sanitizer, COVID-19 tests, and fuzzy slippers. To prep and hydrate Witherspoon’s skin before makeup application, Deenihan used products from The Inkey List. “Virtual awards or not, makeup is makeup and proper skin prep is always essential before starting with any color,” Deenihan told POPSUGAR.
After applying the Hyaluronic Acid Hydrating Serum, “I applied a few drops of Q10 Antioxidant Serum, which is chock-full of antioxidants, protecting the skin against damage caused by free radicals and the environment — especially beneficial with the current poor air quality on the West Coast,” Deenihan said. She followed up with the Peptide Moisturizer, Caffeine Eye Cream, and, last but not least, the Polyglutamic Acid, which she described as “the perfect makeup base or ‘primer’ to lock in moisture and create a thin veil over the skin allowing makeup to glide on seamlessly for an overall even application.”
Witherspoon’s final look included a bright red lip and a neutral warm eye, while her hair was curled in loose waves. We can’t think of a better combo than fuzzy slippers and a bold red lip.
