MH cover guy Miles Teller might feel the need for speed next summer when the highly-anticipated, highly-delayed blockbuster Top Gun: Maverick makes its debut–but for now, the actor is feeling the need for a gym-free workout plan.
While he trained for his role as Bradley ‘Rooster’ Bradshaw, son of the original 1986 film’s Goose character, things were much different. The film was shot in the Before Times of 2019, when he could have access to a gym and normal travel. Teller trained with Jason Walsh, a celeb fitness coach who also counts Matt Damon, John Krasinski, and Brie Larson as famous clients, to pack on 20 pounds of muscle to portray a trainee pilot. Now, Teller is in Australia, as he’s on location for another movie, Spiderhead, with Chris Hemsworth.
Teller can’t get into a traditional gym to break down the more typical training he underwent with Walsh for Top Gun, so he took advantage of the gorgeous Gold Coast beach backdrop to walk the MH crew through a brisk, efficient bodyweight circuit workout. Just about anyone can try these moves–so if you want to give it a go yourself, it’s up to you to push the effort to get the most out of the circuit. Run through the entire circuit two or three times (minus the warmup run, unless you really want to push the cardio) next time you want to train like a Top Gun.
