The 2019 Reebok CrossFit Games are here.

Not just ‘here’ in the sense that the competition is about to begin—you’ll be able to find the Games here, on Men’s Health, starting on Thursday, August 1. We’ll have a livestream of the Games courtesy of our friends at BarBend, who will provide commentary from CrossFit’s world stream as one of over 30 media partners. The events will span the weekend before closing on Sunday, August 4.

A whole year’s worth of WODs have led up to this weekend. Let’s brush up on some essential info so you know exactly how, when, and what to watch for once the Games begin.

How Can You Watch the 2019 CrossFit Games

This year will be the thirteenth edition of the Games, and the first in several years that won’t be broadcast on TV by ESPN and CBS. CrossFit opted instead to create an open source livestream for select media partners (like BarBend) to broadcast their own color commentary. The move takes away the chance to tune in to the competition while flipping through channels on your broadcast TV—but opening up the stream aims to make the Games more accessible for audiences everywhere, especially for non-English speakers. You can find the full list of broadcasts here.

As part of this arrangement, we’ll have the stream of the Games right here in the player below:

What Should I Watch for in the 2019 CrossFit Games?

This is an important year for the biggest names in CrossFit.

On the women’s side, Australia’s Tia Clair-Toomey looks for the first-ever individual three-peat after winning in 2017 and 2018. Meanwhile, reigning champion Mathew Fraser is competing to match Rich Froning (who still competes on the team side for CrossFit Mayhem Freedom) as the only four-time winners in the sport’s history.
