A MUM allegedly murdered alongside her husband by their daughter was stabbed to death, an inquest has heard.

The remains of John and Lois McCullough, aged 74 and 75, were discovered last month after their concerned GP alerted police.

They were last seen alive in August 2018, with their daughter Virginia McCullough, 35, now charged with murder.

An inquest today heard how a provisional cause of death for Lois was given as "stab wounds to the chest".

Further tests are being carried out on John to establish how he was killed.

Essex area coroner Michelle Brown adjourned the inquest "pending the outcome of the police investigation".

The Sun revealed how police had visited the home on August 18 after McCullough claimed she had been assaulted.

Officers interviewed her unaware the bodies were upstairs but no search was carried out as there was no indication of anything suspicious.
