The rumours of whether Steve MacDonald (Simon Gregson) in Coronation Street is Emma Brooker’s (Alexandra Mardell) biological father are set to come true. Soon Emma finds out her Mum has been lying to her for 20 years about the true identity of her dad, and it leads another resident of the cobbles to figure out the truth about who Emma’s dad is.
After visiting her dad in hospital who is suffering from stomach cancer, Emma later gets the news that her ‘dad’ has died. In the Rovers, Audrey (Sue Nicholls) tells Liz (Beverly Callard) that Emma’s mum is Fiona and that her dad is not her dad. As Liz and Audrey do the maths, they realise that Steve could be Emma’s dad!
Emma tells Steve that her mum lives abroad but was originally from Weatherfield and is called Fiona Middleton. Liz tells a stunned Steve that he probably has another daughter!
Steve confides in Tim (Joe Duttine) that he might be Emma’s dad.
Fiona Middleton (played by Angela Griffin) had a brief relationship with Steve at around the time Emma would’ve been conceived.
It’ll certainly come as a bit of a shock to Steve, but will he tell wife Tracy (Kate Ford) that he may have another daughter?
