Boney M legend Liz Mitchell reportedly drove into a ditch on the A47 on Friday while travelling in Cambridgeshire.

According to reports, the disco icon is said to have suffered minor injuries and is now recovering at home.

The East of England Ambulance Service told Express.co.uk: “We were called at 11.35am on July 13 with reports of a collision at the junction of Wisbech Road and Thorney Road, Wisbech.

“We sent an ambulance and an ambulance officer vehicle. One person was taken to Peterborough City Hospital for further care.”

A source told The Sun: “Liz was shaken after the smash, but she fortunately escaped serious injury.

“That section of A47 has a reputation for being dangerous and it could have been much worse.”

A spokesperson for Cambridgeshire police told The Sun: “One vehicle was involved and was found to be in a ditch. The driver, female, was initially trapped in the vehicle but was extracted and a male passenger managed to get out.

“Officers and paramedics attended the scene. No serious injuries were reported. The road was clear at about 1.20pm.”
