Whether you are ready for your six-month trim, or looking to experiment, Daniela has shared the dos and don’ts for getting everything – and more – that you could ever want from your appointment.

Daniela said that the biggest mistake she saw when it came to haircuts was when someone with a specific head shape got the wrong hairstyle.

Professional hair stylist Daniela Malelli shared what haircuts would work best for you

To ensure this doesn’t happen to you at your next salon visit, the stylist has given her tips on choosing the most flattering cut.

The hairstylist – who snips away at her clients’ hair at Bella Salon and Spa in Denton, Texas – told DailyMail.com that those with a rounder face should always opt for a specific haircut to give the illusion of a longer face.

She said that while she ‘wouldn’t suggest’ anyone with a round face shape chop their hair short, Daniela did mention the exact cut that would leave you looking glamorous all-year round.

‘An angled blunt bob with side bangs will create the illusion of a longer face,’ the stylist told DailyMail.com.

When looking to find the right cut for you, Daniela revealed that you should always do your research, don’t be afraid to come in with a couple of pictures, and ask for your hairstylist’s opinion so they can work their magic.

‘Always look for styles that are same as your hair type, texture, thickness, and face shape,’ she said.

Meanwhile, the colorist said that you should opt for darker shade in the winter, especially on pale skin, because it will look ‘striking’ (Kristen Wig shown in 2016)

Daniela noted that you should always go in for a consultation prior to getting a cut.

‘Consultations always help to understand what the person is looking for,’ she told DailyMail.com.

Meanwhile, Abby gave her thoughts on what color would work best for those with a round face.

‘Adding a pop of color to your hair after a haircut can enhance its overall appearance,’ she told DailyMail.com.

‘For example, face-framing highlights can help to soften the edges of a cut and create a flattering look, particularly for individuals with a round face shape.

‘Whether you’re a blonde, brunette, or redhead, incorporating a touch of color can add a beautiful contrast to your hair and accentuate your features.’

Abby then gave a tip to those who were still on the fence about what shade they should dye their hair.

When it comes to one universal color that can work for everyone, Abby revealed a very simple solution to finding your match.

‘Hair color is a personal choice that depends on an individual’s unique features and preferences,’ she told DailyMail.com.

Abby told DailyMail.com: ‘Adding a pop of color to your hair after a haircut can enhance its overall appearance’

‘While there is no one-size-fits-all solution, some shades tend to be more universally flattering than others. I do think people’s natural colors are beneficial to them too.’

And as temperatures rise, Abby gave her best tips for how to accentuate your sun-kissed skin.

‘During the summer months, it’s common for people to want to lighten their hair to match their sun-kissed skin,’ she revealed to DailyMail.com.

‘However, if you have a deep tan, going too light can sometimes wash you out. In that case, a warmer, richer shade can be more flattering.’

When the chilly breeze comes in, Abby said that you should lean towards darker shades because they look more ‘striking’.

‘During the winter months, darker hair colors can be more striking against pale skin. However, it’s important to keep in mind your personal skin tone and the undertones in your hair color when selecting a shade,’ she added.

‘Overall, it’s best to consult with a professional colorist who can help you choose the perfect hair color that compliments your skin tone and enhances your features.’

Abby also shared who should get highlights over all-over color.

‘When it comes to all-over hair color, there are a few things to consider, including skin tone and natural hair type,’ she said.

If you were trying to find your perfect shade, Abby recommended you go for a consultation

‘Yes, there are certain skin tones and natural hair types that work best with all-over color. Generally, lighter skin tones and hair colors (such as blonde, light brown, and red) work best with all-over color, as they can be dyed to a variety of shades and tones.

‘Additionally, people with naturally curly or textured hair may find that all-over color works better than highlights, as the color may be a better option for them rather than highlights. ‘

And the celebrity colorist revealed that those with ‘fine’ hair should avoid coloring their locks because it can cause damage.

Abby also spoke about the biggest mistake that she saw as a colorist.

‘One of the biggest mistakes people make when it comes to hair coloring is attempting to do it at home themselves instead of seeking the advice of a professional colorist,’ she told DailyMail.com.

‘Another mistake is not committing to one person and building a relationship with the colorist. It’s important to remember that hair coloring changes during different seasons and as we age, which is why having a relationship with your colorist is crucial.

‘Honesty is also key when it comes to hair coloring as it’s an instant gratification process that can have emotional impacts if something goes wrong. It’s essential to trust and communicate with your colorist to ensure the best results for your hair color.’

If you were trying to find your perfect shade, Abby recommended you go for a consultation.

And as temperatures rise, Daniela reveals that protecting your hair is just as important as using sunscreen

Both Abby and Daniela suggested the use of a ‘sulfate-free shampoo’ and avoid washing your hair too often

‘My advice would be to seek a professional consultation with a hair color expert,’ she said.

Abby added that you should take ‘baby steps’ when it comes to coloring your hair.

‘With so many choices available, it’s important to take baby steps when it comes to hair color. A thorough consultation with your colorist is crucial, and bringing visual photos of your desired color can be helpful,’ she said.

‘Remember, the expert will provide you with the right advice, even if it doesn’t necessarily align with your desired outcome.’

Abby revealed one of her greatest tips was to visit a wig store so you could get an idea of what the color would look like.

Both Abby and Daniela suggested people use a ‘sulfate-free shampoo’ and avoid washing your hair too often.

And as temperatures rise, Daniela reveals that protecting your hair is just as important as using sunscreen.

‘Sulfate-free shampoo, at least a two-minute conditioner, lukewarm water and not over washing. UV protection spray for hair at summer time helps a lot,’ she said.
