Coronation Street and Emmerdale star Denise Black has opened up about her recent trip to hospital, which saw her receive care after breaking her arm and leg.
The actress played Denise Osbourne from 1992-1997 and then in 2007 and 2017. She is the mother of Daniel (Rob Mallard) and one of many of Ken’s (William Roache) former lovers.
Denise revealed her recent accident on social media. She wrote about how grateful she was to get help from the NHS doctors and nurses, and also revealed images of the breaks she sustained.
She wrote alongside: ‘Now I’m mending I can tell you. I broke my wonky arm. As I fell I dropped what I was carrying which broke my foot. Know Hoffnung’s Bricklayers joke? Google it. I am that joke.
‘Humungous shout out to doctors and nurses far and wide, very especially our beloved NHS. You make humans seem like GOOD people. Great news is I’m still filming. Even better news is I’m mending.
‘Sure, I may be wonkier than before, but in truth, aren’t all the best people? Inside and out #embraceyourwonkiness #thankyounhs.’
Denise is also known for playing Joanie Dingle in Emmerdale from 2013-2017.
Joanie was the adoptive grandmother of Kyle (Huey Quinn), Amy (Natalie Ann Jamieson) and Cain’s (Jeff Hordley) son.
She was also the wife of Zak (Steve Halliwell) and died in 2017 after suffering a cardiac arrest.
