Vanessa Feltz has dipped her toe back in the dating pool on Celebs Go Dating, with her first date in 17 years.

Vanessa shared the update during a red carpet chat from the TRIC Awards where OK! are the official media partner. The TV personality, who is a finalist for ‘Radio personality of the year’ opened up about her experience on the Channel 4 dating show, describing it as: “a shock to the system” and a “wild adventure.”

She continued: “17 years I haven’t been on a date, it’s a long long time.”

While she kept the details of the dates under wraps, Vanessa teased: “I’m not going to be getting married to him anytime soon, put it that way.”

When shooting with Vanessa earlier this month at her home in North London, OK! asked the starwhether there was any truth in the rumours that she'd be set to appear on the much-loved E4 dating show , following split with ex fiancé Ben Ofoedu after 17 years together.

Laughing, she previously teased: "I can’t confirm or deny whether I’m actually doing it. But I can certainly say it would be right up my street and I would be absolutely willing to give it my very best shot and I will take it very seriously and hope that it yields me the true love of my life and Prince Charming!"

She also told us about her checklist for her dream man, so any potential suitors can take note. She stated that he has to be "gentle, kind, good humoured, good natured and honest and transparent. So, I would really like it if someone said they were going to post a letter, they were really going to post a letter. That would be incredibly reassuring."

While personality is important, looks also matter as Vanessa adds: "Obviously, I’m still up for incredibly handsome, enormously entertaining, very clever, dynamic – all that razzly dazzly stuff I still want and like. I’m like anyone else – you’ve got to fancy the person, there’s got to be some chemistry, of course. But the absolute optimum thing would be kindness and honesty."

Vanessa revealed she had split from Ben back in February, as she claimed he had cheated on her by sending sexually explicit text messages to another woman. The Phats & Small musician later confirmed the rumours in a statement on his Instagram page.

Since then, Vanessa’s search for Prince Charming has been helped by the Celebs Go Dating experts with her venturing off on her first date last week. In a video recorded in the back of a taxi, Vanessa exclaimed: "O. M. G. Going off on my first date for Celebs Go Dating. I haven't been on a date for 17 years.

"So, just imagine how I'm feeling. I can't even find the words to describe it – and I'm good at words – so I don't know. But that is where I'm going this morning.

"And I'm wishing you all a lovely, lovely Friday."
