Channel 4's heartbreaking documentary on Jade Goody and her rise to fame left viewers in tears tonight.

This evening, viewers watched Jade's journey to the Big Brother house, from her video application for Big Brother in 2002 to her savvy business sense outside the house.

Jade tragically died in 2009 after suffering from cervical cancer.

In the documentary, her mum Jackiey also opened about her own drug addiction and insisted that Jade didn't go on Big Brother to get famous, but to "get away from her".

In an unearthed interview with Jade, she also spoke about when she was a child and spotted her dad injecting drugs in front of her.

Her ex Jeff Brazier, who she has two children with, also spoke about meeting Jade for the first time.

"I was absolutely fascinated by what had created Jade," he said. "All I could see in her was that there was quality in her and that she couldn't see it.

"She had a lot of layers to her. That part of her that pretended not to be intelligent was a survival mechanism."

And tearful viewers flocked to Twitter to comment.
