Jacob Tremblay has really grown up quite a bit right before our eyes!

The young actor had several minor roles before really breaking out in the 2015 thriller Room, and has gone on to appear in many more films, TV series and even music videos!

His latest role in The Little Mermaid, however, has garnered the most attention, especially with how much he’s grown since first starting on the film.

In a new Instagram post, Jacob shared side by side photos with co-stars Halle Bailey and Jonah Hauer-King, showing just how much he’s literally grown up, from working on the movie to it coming out.

If you didn’t know, filming on The Little Mermaid started in early 2020, was paused due to COVID, and ended up wrapping filming in July 2021.

Jacob was just 12 years old when he got the role and recorded his voice parts, and is now 16 years old and going through puberty when the movie hit theaters.

“I was very, very nervous about [the singing]. But luckily, younger 12-year-old Jacob’s voice was a lot smoother than this, a lot less voice cracks. I managed to pull it off, and it was really exciting and I was very happy,” he told THR earlier this month.

He also talked about going to London, where they filmed much of the movie, and rehearsing and spending time together in person with Halle.

“It was really cool because I actually got to see her sing in person. It was really emotional, it gave me goosebumps. I saw the film last night and she’s just perfect, flawless.”
