    A tattoo fan defended her choice of body artwork after trolls said it was not attractive for women to have inkings.

    Essie Bone, from Los Angeles in the US, recently shared her glow-up transformation after getting dozens of tattoos and forehead reduction surgery.

    She loves the artwork she's collected over the years and has stopped counting them after getting over 50 designs..

    The 23-year-old has a full tattoo sleeve on her left arm, some patchwork tattoos on the other arm as well as inkings on her legs.

    But Essie realised is often trolled just because of her appearance.

    She shamed them on TikTok and pinned their comments in several videos.

    One told her women should "maintain a look of innocence" and another said: "Tattoos look disgusting on women. Billionaires marry exactly how many tattooed women? Zero! You're welcome."

    Essie, who started getting tattoos when she was 17, told Daily Star in an interview: "In regards to comments about 'ruining my body' or saying 'it’s not attractive for women to have tattoos', I’ve personally never had any issues in the dating world because of the tattoos.

    "I also don’t take the negative criticism to heart because at the end of the day it’s my body and I love it.

    "I do however wish I would’ve thought out the style and layout more before I started I don't really plan them, I just get them when I feel like I'd like one.

    "I use tattoos as a way to get out of 'self'. If I was going through something emotionally I would just go and get a tattoo. I would feel immediately better after and had a 'cool' piece of art to show for it!"

    Now, Essie is in the process of removing some of the tattoos that she got when she was young with the view of replacing them further down the line.

    But now she said: "I don’t currently have any plans of getting more."
