A POPULAR comedy series has been 'axed' after just two seasons despite plans for a third already well underway.
The BAFTA nominated Sky Comedy show Bloods has been axed according to reports from Deadline.
The sudden move has allegedly left the show's creators "gutted" as a third series was already in development.
Bloods was devised by popular comedy actor Samson Kayo, known for his roles in shows such as Our Flag Means Death and Sliced, as well as Absolutely Fabulous' Jane Horrocks.
It will come as a surprise to fans after the show proved to be popular with viewers.
The show launched in 2021 and follows Samson and Jane's characters as they navigate life working in the South London emergency service.

Samson plays Maleek, a tough-acting loner, who does not seem the right fit for Wendy, an over-friendly divorcee, which raises eyebrows when they are partnered up to work together.
However, the pair quickly realise through the rush of endless 999 calls that there might actually be a real and supportive friendship brewing underneath the surface.
Fans were shocked however when during the second season, Maleek and Wendy's partnership was tested when she accused him of drinking on the job.
Wendy's son Spencer also added another disruption to the pair's friendship.
