On today’s Good Morning Britain, hosted by Charlotte Hawkins, 44, and Adil Ray, 45, there was an emotional interview about Motor Neurone Disease.
The stand-in hosts were joined by Assistant Chief Constable Chris Johnson, who was diagnosed with the condition last year, and his wife Sharon.
And it struck a chord with Charlotte, as her dad passed away from the condition back in 2015.
Since then, the mum-of-one has become a patron of charity Motor Neurone Disease Association to raise awareness on the condition.
“It’s making me really upset but you are the ones going through it at the moment”

Sharon began to speak about her husband’s experience with the life-shortening condition, which made Charlotte emotional.
After Sharon spoke, a crying Charlotte said: “Sorry, you are better than me, it’s making me really upset but you are the ones going through it at the moment.”
Sharon explained: “When we first got the diagnosis I was absolutely devastated.
“All our hopes, dreams, plans for retirement just seemed to go out of the window.
“I think as a family now we are at the stage that, like, Chris has got the disease, there is nothing we can do about it, yes we might only have him for two to five years, let’s make the most of those years and lets make memories for the children.”
Charlotte replied: “You must be massively proud of him because I just think it’s a personal thing that you are doing, saying, ‘Yes, I have got this horrific disease, I know what’s coming,’ and yet to stand your ground and say I am going to try and live life and carry on as normal as possible.”
Luckily, the mood was lightened later in the episode when Adil made a cheeky joke about Charlotte’s underwear.
The comedian was hanging washing on a line in relation to a segment that was coming up.
He pointed to a leopard print bra and some granny pants and joked that they were Charlotte’s
She made it clear they weren’t but still giggled along with Adil’s joke
