Vanessa Feltz's ex Ben Ofoedu has begged her to take him back after the pair split up when it was revealed he had cheated on her with several women.

Ben, 50, said in an interview on Sunday that Vanessa, who he was with for 16 years, is the "queen of my heart," as he opened up on the split and apologised to Vanessa's family, as well as his own.

The Phats and Small singer said: “I’m sorry for all the pain caused to Vanessa, to her family, to mine. We had an amazing 16 years. It wasn’t perfect, but it was amazing. I truly love her. She’s the love of my life.

“Vanessa is perfect. She didn’t have any issues. I was all me, my insecurities. It’s my fault, my stupidity, I’ve thrown away my life. I hit the self-destruct button."

Admitting to a certain infidelity in 2015, nine years after he and Vanessa got engaged in 2006, Ben said he cheated because he was "insecure."

The woman in question revealed all to Vanessa, who kicked Ben out of their home, before the pair decided to work on their relationship, which then carried on for several years.

Speaking to The Mirror, Ben said the three weeks following his split with Vanessa emerging publicly had been "incredibly painful," as he said he had "never had anything like it".

He also reflected on the "abuse" he had received after the news of the split became public, which he described as "unbelievable".

Ben said that "forgetting all of that, the family that have been hurt is my main concern".

On his hopes of a reconciliation, Ben said: “I just want it out there, me apologising to her for the pain I’ve caused. Of course I want to be with her, if she wants me back."

OK! has contacted representatives for Vanessa and Ben for comment.

On 5 February, Vanessa took to Instagram after a three-week hiatus from the social media app, to post a video in which she confirmed her split from Ben, as she admitted she is "extremely sad" and "disappointed" that the relationship is over.

Despite admitting her sadness at the demise of her relationship, Vanessa said that she was "full of resolve" as she vowed that she was "not going to let this defeat me".

She also told Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield on This Morning of her heartbreak: "God's sake I am not alone and also I've been through it before, it's not like I'm a stranger to stuff I've already had a horrible divorce so it's quite a familiar feeling but I'm absolutely not going to let it grind me down."
