Darts fans have been left aghast by one of Simon Whitlock’s arms, jokingly comparing it to a scene from animated comedy Family Guy.

The size of the Aussie darts hero’s throwing arm, his right, compared to his left was pointed out by darts player and pundit Matthew Edgar, who tweeted a picture of Whitlock with Dutch-American player Jules van Dongen. Whitlock has been in the United States playing in various tournaments.

Edgar wrote: “Interesting image of Simon Whitlock from his time playing in America recently where he has been mopping up titles. However the more important factor here has to be the size of his right arm compared to his left.”

Van Dongen replied to the tweet, insisting: “It was just the way the picture was taken/lighting. Funny nonetheless.”

However, curious darts fans could help but joke about what Whitlock may have been doing, aside from darts, to have such an enormous limb.

“Let’s hope it’s darts related,” quipped one social media user while several compared to the episode of Family Guy where sex-obsessed Glenn Quagmire discovers internet porn and becomes a recluse.

The ‘alone’ time leads to him having one arm significantly bigger than the other.

Another fan joked: “So I can quit the gym and plays more dart. 1 week right and 1 week left handed.”

A third said: “That’s what happens when you play with your ‘darts’ too much!”

One fan suggested: “That must have been his saw hand when he was a carpenter.”

Another mused that it might be due to the size of the points on his darts, which have caused controversy down the years for the damage they do to boards.

“Pulling those aggressive dart points out the board has worked wonders!,” they posted.

One user took a more serious view, writing: “In all seriousness, if this isn't angle of pic or photoshopped, I wonder if he has some nerve damage leading to atrophy of the left arm.”
