Prince Harry’s memoir, Spare, is the highly-anticipated and already controversial book set to be published in the coming weeks, which is expected to contain further allegations against the Royal Family. It comes soon after the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s docuseries, Harry & Meghan, was released on Netflix. As the This Morning presenters and guests discussed what might crop up in the book, Holly argued it wouldn’t be “as bad” as people are predicting.

Spare is due to hit shelves on January 10, and it has already been speculated what the publication might contain.

This Morning hosts Holly and Phillip Schofield were joined by regular guests Camilla Tominey and Tom Swarbrick.

“Is he [Prince Harry] holding back at all or is he just going to go for it?” Phillip asked, sparking a conversation about the upcoming book.

“Phil, we just don’t know,” Camilla replied. “I mean prepare for Oprah [Winfrey] on steroids, I think.”

She added: “It’s just been very carefully written, very carefully planned, albeit postponed because it was meant to come out in the autumn and now it’s coming out on January 10.

“I mean we’re all waiting to see what happens -“

Holly soon cut in to chime: “I don’t think it’ll be as bad as everyone thinks it is.”

“Why do you think that, Hol?” Camilla questioned, looking baffled.

The presenter responded: “I think that because there’s something within me that just wants to believe that he wouldn’t do that…”

“So you hope it won’t be that bad,” Camilla went on. Holly began: “But I just don’t…”

Before she could finish though, Camilla continued: “It might not be now that his father is the King.

“It’s kind of easier to criticise a Prince of Wales because people can take or leave a Prince of Wales.

“But actually, when the Queen died and you saw everybody spontaneously starting to sing God Save the King, that forms a kind of protective ring around him as far as the British public is concerned.

“They don’t really like to see a sovereign maligned and that’s why the couple were very careful not to criticise her late majesty, because it wouldn’t go down very well.”

In the recent Netflix series, Prince Harry claimed he was “screamed at” by Prince William during talks about his potential exit from the monarchy.

He also alleged how the late Queen Elizabeth II had “remained silent” during the rows.

Viewers were also angered about the Suxssexes taking a swipe at Nottingham Cottage, a home which they were provided with by the Royal Family.

Meghan described their former home as “small”.

She remarked: “It sounds very regal but Nottingham Cottage was so small.”

Harry added the building had “low ceilings” and continued: “As far as people were concerned we were living in a palace. We were living in a cottage. On palace grounds.”
