Taylor Swift, Rihanna and Lady Gaga are among the artists shortlisted under several categories by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences for the 2023 Academy Awards.

Rihanna, Swift and Gaga have been shortlisted under the best original song category for “Lift Me Up” from Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, “Carolina” from Where the Crawdads Sing, and “Hold My Hand” from Top Gun: Maverick, respectively.

The three stars had previously been nominated for Golden Globes and Critics Choice Awards in the same category for the same songs.

For both Rihanna and Swift, the current nomination is their first for an Oscar, while for Gaga, this is her fourth nomination. Gaga won the award in 2018 for “Shallow” from A Star Is Born.
