Loose Women’s Charlene White spent the first night in the I'm a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! jungle crying as she confessed to missing her two kids.

Sunday’s premiere saw Charlene arrive in high spirits alongside other celebrities like Hollyoaks actor Owen Warner, pop icon Boy George, Mile Tindall and former Love Island star Olivia Attwood.

During Monday’s show, the 42 year old TV personality was seen crying in the middle of the night, as she missed her two young children.

The next morning she said: “I would say that my first night’s sleep in the jungle wasn’t great. I’m not used to sleeping outdoors, it’s a new environment.

“I think I was over emotional, I was missing the kids, it just got released through tears really and I just couldn’t stop crying.”

Charlene shares five year old son, Alfie, and daughter Florence, three, with her partner Andy.

Charlene had predicated the emotional moment herself and earlier told The Sun: ”I will definitely get teary. It’s a foregone conclusion.

“I am going to miss our daily routine with the kids, I am going to miss waking up with them and having quiet time before the school run and that’s what is going to get me tearing up. It will be weird.”

Charlene had a stressful introduction to the show before the group even made it to the jungle after she was left standing on a plank 32-stories in the air.

While undertaking the infamous Walk The Plank challenge, the Greenwich-born journalist was joined by Lioness Jill Scott and actor Babatunde Aleshe, with the latter unable to complete the challenge.

While no one blamed Babatunde for pulling out of the challenge, he left Charlene standing precariously for a staggering 45-minutes.

The scene was discussed on Good Morning Britain, where entertainment reporter Vick Hope wrote: “He left poor Charlene standing mid-air for three-quarters of an hour, she was just there!”

Both Susanna Reid and co-host Ed Balls were shocked by the revelation, with Susanna remarking: “You know what, she was very gracious if that's the case!

“I think that I would be a little bit frustrated if someone was making me wait longer than normal in such a terrifying position.”

Vick replied: “You could just tell that he knew where his limit was and he had reached it.

“You could see the way that he was talking to himself in his head just saying, ‘I cannot do this.”
