MANY parents struggle for months to choose a name for their baby.
But there are some monikers that are picked so infrequently that they're actually at risk of becoming extinct by as early as next year.
Government data showing the number of babies born with each name each year, from 1996 to 2022, was analysed by the Pregnacare team at Vitabiotics.
Through their research, they were able to predict the 40 boys' names and 40 girls' names that are likely to go completely out of favour by 2023 if no new registrations are made in the coming months.
That's because each of the names was only given to a maximum of three babies since 2020.
On the girls' list are names such as Debra, Gladys, Meryl and Carolyn.
