Isobel Steele is tipped to leave Emmerdale this month, with her character Liv Flaherty set to die in the catastrophic storm for the show’s 50th anniversary.

Reports say that the popular character will depart after six years, with Isobel ‘ready to try new things.’

Emmerdale is marking the 50th anniversary with a storm that will tear through the village; and it is already confirmed that more than one fan favourite will die.

Danny Miller returned to filming after just over a year away, playing Liv’s older brother Aaron Dingle.

But it seems that his world will be destroyed when Liv is caught up in the natural disaster; with a tragic outcome.

‘It’s been a big decision for Isobel but she’s ready to try new things,’ a source told The Sun.

‘She feels like she’s done all she can at Emmerdale and wants to focus on her music career and make a real go of it.

‘Bosses have pulled out all the stops for the 50th anniversary month and Isobel’s exit will be no different.’

‘Viewers are going to be on the edge of their seats as it all plays out and Liv is killed off,’ they added.

‘It’s a real heartbreaker, a death fans will remember for a long time to come.’

Emmerdale spokespersons had no comment to make when approached by Metro.co.uk: ‘We don’t comment on storyline speculation or cast contracts.’

Isobel discussed filming the storm recently, telling Metro.co.uk: ‘Its so much fun. I love anything to do with stunts, anything different from the normal day. It’s been really good fun.

The wind machines are huge so loud,’ she explained. ‘I’ve been given a – I’m so excited about it and its not even that exciting! – clip-on holder for my earbuds, which we all have to have on because the machines are so loud, but we cant hear what anyone is saying.’

She’s mainly working with Bradley Johnson, who plays Vinny, in these scenes and it’s lucky they’re very used to working together because they can’t actually hear each other speaking their lines.

‘Me and Brad are going to have to think about when we say our line,’ Isobel continued. ‘We’ve got no idea, I can’t see or hear you at all, we’re just kind of winging it! We can’t hear or see.’

The storm will ‘change life in the village forever’, show bosses confirmed to Metro.co.uk earlier this summer.

And Isobel went on to comment on the eerie state of the village after the stunts were filmed.

‘I came in yesterday and saw the Emmerdale sign on its side,’ she revealed. ‘I completely forgot that had happened!

‘Trees are smashed everywhere, branches… it looks like its not been worked in for years. It looks derelict.

‘It looks amazing.’

Emmerdale’s anniversary episode will air on Sunday October 16 on ITV.
