OASIS rocker Liam Gallagher has revealed himself to be a surprise Love Island fan and is backing show favourite Ovie to win.

Last night as the nation watched the drama between Jordan Hames, Anna Vakili and India Reynolds unfold, the 46-year-old couldn’t resist getting involved with the action.

Gentle giant Ovie won himself another celeb fan last night as Liam Gallagher tweeted: “Ovie Ovie Ovie Oi Oi Oi LG x”

Fans of the show and the rocker were loving the surprise tweet, with many asking if he would be going into the villa next year, and if he did would he be wearing his trademark parka everyday?

“So you’ve succumbed to watching love island again ?,” wrote one.

While a second joked: “Lol I can’t believe you’re watching that. Even more I can’t believe I am. How embarrassing ?”

The Shockwave singer isn’t the only celeb who is backing 6ft 7in Ovie to win.

Radio 1 presenter Maya Jama and her boyfriend Stormzy are reportedly fans, along with Strictly’s James Jordan, and singer Jake Quickenden.

However, despite his huge fan base, a petition of the basketball player to win Love Island on his own was rejected by Parliament yesterday.

Although it started as a joke, Olivia Avery, the woman behind the petition, explained to metro.co.uk she felt if Ovie won on his own it would send a positive message to viewers.

Launched on July 11, the government took 12 days to view the petition and decide that it’s not up to them to decide.

But Ovie’s popularity shows no signs of waning.

Last night he gained himself even more fans as he proved himself to be a complete gentleman.

In case you missed Tuesday’s show, the villa erupted after Jordan admitted his head was turning in the direction of India, who is currently partnered up with Ovie.

And all of this comes AFTER the Mancunian model asked Anna to be his girlfriend just three days before. Boys, eh?

As it all kicked off, gentle giant Ovie quietly walked over and saved India from the arguing and yelling.

One fan said: "Ovie deserves so much appreciation! Reminding people that there are still true gentleman in the world.

"Not just Jordan's, Curtis,' Michael's etc etc.. #LoveIsland."

Dancing on Ice's James Jordan agreed, saying: "I’d like to add Ovie is the coolest person in that villa and a real man. Went and got his girl and took her away from the toxic situation. OVIE FOR THE WIN!!"

Another viewer added: "Ovie is sooooo smooth, just sit back with your girl and watch the light show!!! #loveisland."
