Love Island 's Amy Hart dubbed herself "the original showgirl" while hitting back at claims her dramatic exit speech was fake.

The reality star, who quit the show after having her heart broken by half-boyfriend Curtis Pritchard, has faced claims her exit was staged by producers.

Before leaving the villa, Amy sat Curtis down for a chat, telling him that she had to leave so that they could have a friendship on the outside.

She then made a speech to her fellow Islanders, saying she wanted to leave so that she and Curtis could move on.

During an appearance on Capital's Breakfast Show, Amy hit back at claims the moment was produced by stating that even she, "the original showgirl", couldn't learn that much "material".

Delving into the claims, host Sonny Jay said: "Some people claim that the exit was slightly produced. Were the producers sort of pushing you to do that sort of speech and stuff? Because it was like a film wasn't it?"

Amy hit back: "No, I'm the original showgirl, so if I'm going to do my exit I'm going to do it well.

"Everyone keeps saying that it was all rehearsed and stuff, but like I say, it was 20 minutes on the terrace with Curtis, my speech at the firepit was a good like five, six minutes, so I can't learn that much material.

"I'm the original showgirl but I can't learn that much."

It comes after Amy said she'll need months of therapy to get over her time on the ITV2 show.

She told Grazia magazine she cannot fault ITV for their improved after care, saying: "I've got 14 months of therapy guaranteed, but if I need it afterwards I can still have it.

"I can't fault the support. People have had a lot of bad things to say about them and they might have upped the aftercare, but it's the same team who've worked on the show for five years.

"I don't agree with the criticism – they are amazing."
