Emmerdale 's Mike Parr left his fans stunned over the weekend as he shared a snap of his new transformation following his exit from the ITV soap.

The actor, 35, who played Ross Barton on the hit ITV soap from 2013 until 2018, took to Instagram to share a picture of his new moustache as he posed to the camera.

Mike captioned the selfie with "Paul Sykes vibes", in reference to the British heavyweight boxer who also sported a similar moustache and hairdo.

The actor's 248K followers were quick to go wild over the transformation as former Emmerdale star Natalie Anderson, who played Alicia Metcalfe, commented: "And Tom Selleck!!"

Elsewhere one fan wrote: "Tom Selleck" with a series of shocked emojis.

A different account put: "Look like Tom Selleck."

While another follower added: "It suits you!"

It comes after Emmerdale fans were hoping that Mike's character Ross Barton would make a return after he was mentioned on the ITV soap earlier this year.

During a festive episode, Charity Dingle mentioned Ross' name as she revealed that he was dropping their son Moses off in the village although he was never seen on-screen.

Speaking to Mackenzie Boyd, Charity said: "I'll see you later, yeah? Ross is dropping Moses off… so we need to do the introductions."

Soap watchers went wild over the mention of Ross as the character was last seen in the village in 2018.

During Ross' time on the ITV soap, he was part of several hard-hitting storylines including a harrowing acid attack and he left the village four years ago with Rebecca White.

Taking to Twitter after Ross' mention, soap fans begged for the character's return.

One person said: "'Ross is bringing Moses back' please someone tell Ross he is welcome to stay!!! #Emmerdale."

A different account put: "Be great to see Ross back on #Emmerdale."

Another follower commented: "I wish Ross would come back to #Emmerdale."
