THE Chase's Bradley Walsh quickly said sorry after getting a little to intense on the ITV quiz show and damaging the set.

The much-loved presenter, 61, got very worked up when contestant Max went up against Mark 'The Beast' Labbett in the hopes of winning £35,000.

It came down to the wire with one question causing Bradley to be on the edge of his seat.

“Which of these counties border the other two?” read the question.

Max picked Wiltshire over the other two options of Hampshire and Gloucestershire, and the host was convinced he'd got it right.

Bradley got so excited that when it looked like Max was going to win, he smacked the game board, causing it to crack.

"Ok i've cracked it i'm so sorry. Have we got a spare?" the host asked looking up.

"I can't believe that's happened, have we got a spare?"

He then joked to Max: "You know when you get your £35,000, can you lend me a couple of quid?"

Bradley apologised again for the unbelievable moment.

"I get so into the game! As soon as you put Wiltshire [as the answer] I knew it was right. We are three from home, come on Max," he said.

Game programming student Max from Surrey went against convention to not play it safe and battle the Chaser for the highest possible amount.

“I’m going to go for it,” he said confidently.

Despite taking the path of bravery, Max crashed out again The Beast, much to the disappointment of his teammates, Helen, Emma and Jonny.

They went through to the final round, hoping to win £75,000 but were beaten by The Beast.

Bradley's dramatic moment comes after he recently revealed how he "cheated" in order to land the hosting gig on the popular quiz show.

During the pilot making point of The Chase, Bradley was informed that, if he could beat one of the Chasers, then ITV would go ahead with making the series.

The 61-year-old told Roman Kemp on Capital Breakfast: “And this is absolutely true – what they didn't realise was the sheets, with the questions and the answers on, were lying face down on my end of the desk.

"I could see the print through and I could read the answers backwards and I read them.

“So every time they come in on the head to head as if they were at the table, I’d smash both of them.

“And as I walked away, I took the piece of paper and put it on the other table so no one saw it. So I'd actually cheated.”
