Southern Charm New Orleans is on its second season so far, and we’re already seeing some major relationship discomfort. Now that Jeff Charleston and Reagan Charleston have divorced, Reagan has been free to seek out love again — and she did so rather quickly. With a speed that surprised Southern Charm New Orleans fans and cast members alike, Reagan reconnected with her college sweetheart and had a baby daughter. 

Now, all eyes are on Jeff Charleston while he struggles with his new reality. He’s been working hard at rediscovering himself with the help of Jon Moody, but is Jeff Charleston back on the dating scene?

Why did Jeff and Reagan split?

When the Southern Charm New Orleans couple split, their friends and fans were surprised. It was clear that they were having their fair share of ups and downs, but to most a divorce didn’t seem imminent. Reagan made it clear that they didn’t often discuss their marriage with others. 

Reagan tweeted, “I didn’t talk about how messed up our marriage was because it was embarrassing and I didn’t know what to do. I wasn’t happy. @jefecharleston wasn’t happy. It was constant volatility and turbulence at home. We were miserable.”

Reagan also did her best to clarify that the divorce had nothing to do with money. “And to the imbeciles saying I left bc of what happened with @jefecharleston mom and saying it had to do with $ — we never had financial problems. Our house was paid off. I have a successful business. I was finishing law school. I have a super supportive fam,” she tweeted.

For Jeff, there were mental health issues that affected their relationship. He suggests he suffered from depression and mood swings, possibly as a result of head injuries from his NFL career. “I went through extreme depression and I didn’t know what depression was,” Jeff said to Reagan during a Bravo preview.

What does Jeff Charleston think of Reece Thomas?

Now, Reagan Charleston is remarried. In a move that shocked fans and castmates even further, Reagan married her college sweetheart, Reece Thomas. The time between her divorce and marriage were quite short, and it also wasn’t long before she was pregnant with a baby daughter. 

“I’d gone through this really difficult transition in my life after my divorce and I was looking at being 30 years old where my friends were getting married for the first time and having babies and starting families and I was looking at completely starting over. That was terrifying. But then Reece came back into my life and everything fell into place,” Reagan told People.

While Jeff Charleston has been cordial to Reece Thomas in public, he made his true feelings clear to RealityBuzz TV. “[Reece] seems to drink a lot, and obviously I drink a lot and run, but I don’t drink that often,” said Jeff. “He had a gambling problem, he never really left home, ya know.” 

“I mean, all I can say is that he used to wear his mom’s clothes, and isn’t afraid to share that … He proposed in a horse stall. I don’t have to say anything. I’m just going to state facts and leave it at that,” added Jeff Charleston.

Is Jeff Charleston dating anybody?

During an appearance on After Buzz TV, Justine Reese and Barry Smith had updates on Jeff Charleston’s dating life following his divorce. 

“Jeff is living his best life. Jeff is doing good. He’s Jeff-free now,” said Smith. Reese added, “He went out on a couple of dates. He told me about one person but it’s so brand new. We’re still trying to wait and see how that develops for him.” 

Jeff told Reality Buzz TV, “[I’m] figuring out what’s the most compatible with me. I think my biggest thing is I’m not trying to rush love … I think [I’m looking for] someone that’s laid back, obviously. Someone that likes to be outdoors. Someone that’s active because that’s very important in my life is to, you know, be active, to work out, to eat healthy, to just really enjoy life.”
