The sixteenth series of The Apprentice has wrapped up for yet another year after Lord Alan Sugar picked Harpreet Kaur and her dessert business as his next investment.
After an intense all-female final between Harpreet and Kathryn Burn, the business mogul decided to invest £250,000 in the 30-year-old's scrumptious business after the pair delivered their final pitches in the boardroom.
While Kathryn’s impressive pyjama company certainly brought a smile to investors in the office, it was Harpreet’s sweet treats which landed her the role as Lord Sugar’s new business partner.
Reacting to her win, the West Yorkshire star said: “I cannot believe Lord Sugar has chosen me to be his business partner.
"I have dreamt of this moment and it just completely proves that if you work hard and you believe in yourself dreams can come true."
Shortly after the news was announced, the entrepreneur's website, Barni's, has crashed due to the number of orders from her loyal legion of fans online.
After her investment, the star hopes to open multiple parlous across the UK with the added funds injected into her company.
Currently, the desert company has over eight thousand followers on Instagram under the username handle @barnisworld.
She plans to “level up” her successful, six-figure coffee and cakes business to become a leading brand in the UK.
At the start of the competition, she revealed: “I’m definitely not in business to make friends. I’m here to make money and I'm pretty sure Lord Sugar isn’t looking for a new mate.
“I was born to take control and I'm always right,” she concluded.
And it’s fair to say the star has proved true of her word as she managed to fight off her 15 fellow contestants and steal the quarter of a million pounds jackpot.
Following the exciting news that the brunette beauty had secured the six-figure investment, fans of the show flooded to Twitter to pass on their congratulatory messages online.
One user wrote: "Amazing to see a young punjabi woman win the apprentice!! Go Harpreet! Definitely the right choice @Lord_Sugar @harpsikaur #TheApprentice #inspirational #generaltionalgoals."
