Greg Rikaart is coming back to Days of Our Lives. The veteran character actor will be reprising his role of the villainous Leo on the popular NBC daytime soap. But now, fans of The Young and the Restless are wondering what Rikaart’s return means for his other character of Kevin Fisher.

Greg Rikaart will be returning to ‘Days of Our Lives’ as Leo

On February 11, Greg Rikaart took to Twitter to announce that he’d be returning to Days of Our Lives as the villainous Leo. The veteran character actor was responding to a tweet put out by the long-running NBC soap, which featured Billy Flynn (who plays Chad).

“Oh how you tease, Chadwick. I’m so excited for Leo’s return to Salem. Great stuff ahead!” he wrote on the popular social media site.

“If the promo is any indication, it looks like he’ll be clashing plenty with Chad, Will and Sonny — and possibly even tearing their friendship apart!” teases Soaps.com. So, even though Sonny and Will are coming back to the show, Leo is coming with them — which is nothing but trouble!

‘The Young and the Restless’ fans are concerned he won’t be returning

After Greg Rikaart made the announcement about his return to Days of Our Lives, some fans of The Young and the Restless were concerned about the fate of his other character, Kevin Fisher. Many of them took to Twitter to express their concern that he wouldn’t be back on the show.

“Does this mean that you’re off Y&R again? Or are you doing both with an occasional pop in to Y&R?” asked one fan. “Hold up now….we need our Kevin over in G City,” wrote another, who was referring to Genoa City, the city in which Y&R was released. And still another asked, quite simply, “you’re leaving Y&R?”

While Rikaart didn’t answer any of the fan’s speculation, he did recently confirm that he isn’t going anywhere on The Young and the Restless.

Rikaart recently confirmed he’ll ‘be back’ to ‘Y&R’

It’s unclear whether Greg Rikaart is on contract, or on recurring status, on Days of Our Lives. However, what’s clear is that even though he’s not been on the canvas on The Young and the Restless lately, he will be back at the popular CBS daytime soap soon.

“I’m still there,” he said to Soap Opera Digest in an interview featured in their most recent print issue. “Actually, I’m there indefinitely. [And] I’m having more fun now than ever.”

As fans of soaps are undoubtedly aware, episodes of the show tape months in advance. So, it’s entirely possible that Rikaart will be returning to Genoa City sometime soon — or that he’s already taped his “return” and fans just don’t know it quite yet. But no matter what the story is, Days of Our Lives fans can expect to see Greg Rikaart on their screens very soon.
