NOTTINGHAM FOREST owner Evangelos Marinakis has given the club a substantial financial boost.
That is according to Companies House, who claim that Marinakis has turned £12million worth of loans to the Championship outfit into equity shares.
That in effect removes the debt owed by Forest to the Greek owner, who is also in charge of Superleague champions Olympiacos.
The move comes despite the coronavirus pandemic taking a devastating financial toll on English football.
Arsenal were among the clubs worst hit by COVID-19 as they reported a staggering record loss of £107.3m for the last financial year, with £85m attributed to the virus.
The news coincides with an impressive season from Steve Cooper's men, who are pushing for Premier League promotion.
Cooper has revitalised the Midlands giants, who have registered a total of 14 wins and 10 losses in 33 Championship matches.
The Welsh head coach has led his team to 15 wins and a mere four losses in 27 games across all competitions since replacing Chris Hughton at the helm in September.

The 42-year-old also saw his team knock Arsenal and Leicester out of the FA Cup to reach the fifth round, where they will face Huddersfield next Monday.
Forest are ninth in the Championship table with only three points separating them from sixth place and the play-offs.
Forest haven't competed in the Premier League since their relegation in 1999.
Marinakis has been determined to bring Forest back to the top flight ever since taking over in 2017.
The club came closest two seasons ago with a seventh-place finish in the Championship.
