It was announced earlier this month that Alexandra Mardell who portrays the role of Emma Brooker would be leaving much-loved ITV soap Coronation Street.

With her final scenes airing in April, it seems that the star has now wrapped up filming after heading out on the town with a star-studded bunch of pals – with most being co-stars from the soap opera.

Taking to Instagram to share an array of photographs from the fun-filled and no-doubt emotional night, Alexandra was keen to show off her famous pals in the selection of selfies.

She wrote a sweet caption alongside the carousel of sweet snaps which read: "Face ache from smiling and hardly any photos are a sign of a fab night! Can we do it again? Huge hugs to everyone who came to say ta-ra for now! Had the best night with you all! Big big love."

The first snap was of Alexandra with her on-screen father Simon Gregson (Steve McDonald), and her off-screen boyfriend of four years, Joe Parker.

Georgia Taylor who plays the role of Toyah Battersby penned: "We [heart] you Ali!! Xxx."

While Elle Mulvaney who plays the role of Amy Barlow, Emma's half-sister in Corrie, commented with three red heart emojis, and posted a sweet snap to her own Instagram account.

From the photos that were shared, it was clear to see that almost all of the current Coronation Street clan were in attendance.

As well as Georgia (Toyah) and Elle (Amy), Mollie Gallagher who plays Nina Lucas was there, as was Harriet Bibby who plays Summer Spellman, and Tanisha Gorey who plays Asha Alahan.

Commenting on the post, fans and friends flocked to wish Alexandra well and all the best for the future.

One fan said: "You’ve done an amazing job at portraying Emma, can’t wait to see what is next for you."

While a second penned: ""Ta-ra for now"??? Pleeeease tell me this means you will be back?!"

And a third commented: "Good luck Alexandra really going to miss your lovely smile on Corrie."

Earlier on in the month 28-year-old actress confirmed to The Sun that she was filming her exit scenes.

She told the publication: "Playing Emma, on the most iconic street there is, has been the best experience of my life.

"Compared to other cast members I still feel like a newbie, which makes my decision to leave all the more difficult. But I feel it’s the right time for me."

She added: "I can’t thank everyone at Coronation Street enough for welcoming me and trusting me to tell so many wonderful and heartfelt stories."

Corrie boss Iain MacLeod also opened up to the publication and revealed that the current "pickle" Emma has found herself in will be the storyline that sees her exit the soap.

For those out of the loop, Emma and Faye Windass accidentally knocked over an elderly man named Ted during Faye's driving lesson, while Emma was still slightly drunk from the night before.

Though the girls took him home to see that he was okay, upon returning with a new packet of biscuits for him, found Ted dead in his armchair.

Faye couldn't help but confess all to her police officer boyfriend Craig, who ultimately resigned his job after getting rid of evidence for the pair so they could avoid jail time.

There is no DNA evidence as of yet – but an e-fit was drawn up and released, and it looked very much like Emma – so could this mean she's going to get caught and jailed very soon?

Emma was first seen on-screen as Steve McDonald's long lost daughter in 2018, so we are looking forward to seeing how she'll leave the soap – although we really wish she wasn't going anywhere!
