ESCAPE to the Chateau’s Dick Strawbridge and wife Angel Adoree recently gave fans an insight into how they spend the festive period with their kids, Arthur and Dorothy.

In a clip posted on the popular telly couple’s website, they could be seen having a bash at wreath making, but things didn’t go quite to plan.

The duo, who often bicker about their renovation plans on the hit Channel 4 show, came to blows over the project, with Engineer Dick accusing designer Angel of sabotage.

“You can do something nice with the three of them”, Angel said as she put together a wreath.

The 43-year-old went on: “The thing is you need a bit of foliage. You can use ribbons, but we will be doing that a little bit later on”.

Angel giggled as Dick held up a handful of branches, announcing that it was “broken” and then assuring his wife: “It’s okay, nobody will know. It’s not like we were…”

But before the 62-year-old could say another word, the pair erupted into laughter, and Angel soon put him right: “That’s not how you do it”.

After that, Dick dropped the branches all over the floor as he joked: “You passed it to me. I’ve been booby-trapped. I have been sabotaged. My credibility is gone”.

Dick appeared to throw in the towel as he unceremoniously dumped his efforts on the table, while Angel tried to bash on through the nonsense and finish her demonstration.

"Stay here where I can see you”, she commanded her hubby, saying exactly what it was they were trying to produce.

"You've basically got to make this. I am not going to do all three. I am just going to concentrate on one”, Angel explained as she put her foot down.

Holding up one of his wife’s creations, Dick dropped a clever reference to BBC kids’ show Blue Peter: "I made this one earlier”.

"I love things wild and homemade," the mum-of-two replied, before the hilarious double act wrapped up the activity and thanked their fans.

"Being happy and being with loved ones. We just want to thank you from the bottom of our hearts. Have a lovely Christmas”, Angel said.

Not quite done with winding her up, Dick explained that Angel is “the soppy one”, to which she replied: "The thing is, it's all about family”.
