A DRUNK driver who mowed down three teenage boys as they walked to a party tried to flee the scene on foot – but was stopped when one of their friends smashed him over the head with a bottle.

Cowardly Jaynesh Chudasama, 28, pleaded guilty at the Old Bailey to causing death by dangerous driving over the crash in Hayes, West London.

Harry Rice, George Wilkinson and Josh Mcguinness, all aged 16 and 17, died after his car mounted the pavement on January 26.

The pals were walking to a 16th birthday party in Hayes when they were struck by Chudasama's Audi near a bus stop.

The reckless coward – who was two-and-a-half times over the limit – tried to flee on foot with a pal.

But he was dragged back to the scene of his crime and smashed on the head by a bottle to keep him from running.

Emergency services rushed to the horror near the M4 Junction 4 but the boys couldn't be saved and were pronounced dead at the scene.

Chudasama was arrested at the scene and later charged with three counts of causing death by dangerous driving.

One of George's tearful friends held his hand as he died from catastrophic head and neck injuries, while Joshua was struck with such force he was flung over a cemetery wall.

But Harry was carried away on the bonnet of the car, crushing his body as it ploughed into the wall.

The boys' devastated families paid tribute to them at the time of the tragedy.

George's grandfather Nigel Goodhand said: "I keep breaking down and I've got other things to think about and I try not to think about George but it all falls in…it's horrible.

"[I'd like him to be remembered] as he was – a boy. Adventurous. He was 16, he wanted to go and help his father in the same business.

"He was a lad and a half he was – always having a laugh and a joke".

One sobbing pal Tia, 16, said: "I knew them all from Harefield Academy school, they were all so cheeky, Josh was the quiet one but he came out his bubble when he was with George and Harry.

"I heard about the crash on Friday night, I couldn't believe it, I thought it's not true, someone is winding me up.

"They were going to a girl's 16th birthday party at Goals.

"At school they were in different classes but used to go into each others class when they could, they were just really good friends.
