ARSENAL fans were made to eat their words after mocking Gunners striker Alexandre Lacazette.

Aaron and Ben ripped into the Emirates forward after he recorded a miss from close range for Arsene Wenger's side against Spurs.

Aaron, 31, from London, posted: "@LacazetteAlex was only two yards out! I could have scored that blindfolded!"

And Ben, 30, also from London, wrote: "I could have scored that with my eyes closed @LacazetteAlex #AFC #getmeonthepitch."

But the two lads found out sometimes it's best to keep your mouth shut… and your thumbs quiet – thanks to the help of Lacazette, Olivier Giroud and Peter Cech.

Betfair organised for Aaron and Ben to meet the Arsenal superstars for the chance to show them they have what it takes.

But unfortunately for them it had dire results – although they were blindfolded.

Aaron's first attempt nowhere near, while Ben didn't even take a swing for the ball.

Aaron shows some decent technique on his second go but again missed the ball entirely.

Ben's technique was more suspect but he bumbled the ball into the net off his knee. One-nil.

He said: "I did pretty well but I never thought I'd get it second time.

"But I used to be a striker, so I think it's striker's instinct."

Aaron's third attempt saw the ball bounce up and fall agonisingly close, only for him to remove the blindfold and smash it in.

Giroud had the last laugh, saying: "So next time you will think before tweeting."
