GYPSY King Tyson Fury paid himself just £70,000 last year – despite banking a whopping £40million.

The heavyweight champ, 33, pocketed a staggering £20million after knocking out Deontay Wilder in their trilogy bout in October. 

But end of year company accounts show the frugal fighter paid himself just £70,000 in dividends.

A source said: "He's extremely careful with money and knows the value of it.

"He's not extravagant or flamboyant like some boxers are and lives a very modest lifestyle."

They added: "He is ensuring his family is comfortable for generations to come and that's humbling." 

Tyson and wife Paris have just bought a stunning new £1.7million home in the Lancashire seaside resort of Morecambe.

They love the picturesque area and after living in a £550,000 house overlooking the beautiful Morecambe Bay, they have now bought a second home nearby.

It has much more room for their their three daughters, Venezuela, 12, Valencia, three, and two month old Athena, and three sons, Prince John James, nine, Prince Tyson II, four, and Prince Adonis, two.

He's not extravagant or flamboyant like some boxers are and lives a very modest lifestyle.

It comes after Fury was ordered to defend his WBC world heavyweight crown against fellow Brit Dillian Whyte.

The pair must now negotiate an agreement before the potential bout goes to purse bids – and there are expected to be major rows over the financial split.

Tyson has already been given permission to ditch 'greedy' Whyte after the rival allegedly demanded £7.5million for their potential showdown.

And the Gypsy King's UK promoter Frank Warren insists the absolute best Whyte will be offered is 20 per cent of the purse-strings.

Whyte earned just £300,000 from his previous fight against Alexander Povetkin.

And Fury roared: "Three hundred grand for his last fight? That bum's not worth £300. We'll see how much he wants a title fight.

The heavyweight has got a total of £28.7million in his firm Tyson Fury Ltd – that takes in cash from his bouts – but new books revealed his modest dividend in 2021.

And in 2020, he took out a paltry £2,000.

But he has begun investing his riches. The figures sent to Companies House show he’s invested £3.4million.

The cash pile of £28.7million is for the 12 months to the end of March 2021 – that’s £1million up on 2020.

And another £3.1million is owed from other sources. That all means the firm is worth £39.5million.

He struck a deal worth a king’s ransom for him to fight Deontay Wilder over three clashes and was paid £13million for the final bout.

Tyson’s share of the spoils for the resounding win and third fight in October will be yet to be taken into the firm’s books.

Last February, Tyson also launched an official merchandise company to capitalise on his popularity.
