    Scheduling shake-up for ITV soaps

ITV have announced the soaps will now air later in the evenings after a major change to the channel’s news output.

It will now air a full hour of news from 6.30pm, pushing the soaps later in the day.

Emmerdale, which has a big year ahead celebrating its 50th birthday in 2022, will move to a 7.30pm slot.

Coronation Street, the nation’s biggest soap, is to move to three hour-long episodes, on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 8pm.

The news will mean bad news for struggling BBC rival EastEnders – putting the ITV soaps in direct competition with it each night.https://imasdk.googleapis.com/js/core/bridge3.495.1_en.html#goog_410236357

EastEnders has struggled in the ratings – with Emmerdale and Corrie pulling in millions more viewers each night.

Kym Marsh has ‘no doubt’ she’ll return to Coronation Street

For a solid 13 years, Kym played the role of Michelle Connor in ITV’s Corrie – and now she's teased that a comeback could be on the cards.

When asked if there was a possibility that she could ever return to the famous cobblestone streets, Kym said: “Yeah, possibly. I love Coronation Street – it’s where I started and it gave me the biggest part of my career.

“I had wonderful times there, I made wonderful friends and I loved the character of Michelle, so I have no doubt I’ll go back at some point – as long as they don’t kill me off off-screen.”

Kym’s return to Weatherfield, though, will have to be put on the backburner as she is currently appearing in a new theatre role called Fatal Attraction.

The 45-year-old plays spurned lover Alex Forrest, which sees her stripping off for some saucy scenes.

The play is based on the 1987 film starring Glenn Close, who was hell-bent on manipulative and violent revenge against married lover Dan Gallagher, played by Michael Douglas.

Elaine told him: “She didn’t want to leave hospital while you were in surgery so she put up a fight.

“There was a scuffle, and she kicked the vending machine. That’s criminal damage so they arrested her and took her to the police station.”

Worried, Stevie turns to Dylan for advice… which only leads him to call Faith into his office for a very awkward chat.

But Faith only sees red and is unable to hold any of her punches in front of Matthew.

Faith lashes out, chastising Stevie for her history with men and making hurtful comments about her friends’ relationship with her late sister Emma, who was tragically left in a vegetative state after being treated by an inexperienced Ethan back in 2016, following a car accident.
