She made her name presenting an iconic football show – but now Helen Chamberlain has moved to immortalise the infamous words of darts player Ted Hankey with a specially made t-shirt.

Chamberlain, who played pub-league darts as a youngster, was a Woking and District ladies' darts singles champion in 2012.

But she made her name when she began presenting Soccer AM on Sky Sports in 1995, a role she held for 22 years. Her partnership with Tim Lovejoy on Saturday mornings, and the fun-loving way in which she viewed the game, became renowned.

The Torquay United supporter has continued in television since, and has now weighed in on the video of Hankey that went viral last month.

In the clip, Hankey needs 25 to win a leg during a match against fellow ex-BDO darts world champion John Walton.

Hankey, otherwise known as 'The Count', readies himself to throw before pausing and talking to himself.

He says: "Do I fancy double 12 or double eight? Who's in charge, me or the devil?"

The now 53-year-old then returns to the oche and continues: "I think I'm in charge. Fat nine, double eight, shake his hand. Just like that.

"Come on you c***, f******, you c***."

Unfortunately, the Stoke-on-Trent man was left ruing his decision to ignore the devil, proceeding to miss the double eight before turning to the camera with his arms outstretched while the commentators fail to suppress their laughter.

In the PDC World Championship final between Peter Wright and Michael Smith, pundit Wayne Mardle referenced the clip when 'Snakebite' was left needing 25, saying live on air: "Can he take out the devil's finish? This is devilish. Who's in charge? He is!"

And now Chamberlain, 54, has joined in the fun by ordering a specially made t-shirt, complete with an image of Hankey and the words "Who's in charge" written below.

She posted an image on Twitter, since deleted, of her posing in the purchase, with darts commentator Rod Studd responding with Mardle catchphrase: "I should have been told!"

Chamberlain replied with: "We need to wear them on an outing!"

During the PDC World Championships, Chamberlain regularly tweeted about the action to her 285.6k followers, which culminated in Scotsman Wright claiming a second title by beating England's Michael Smith 7-5 in the final.

And her latest contribution may trigger darts fans into delving into some online shopping themselves to further cement Hankey's notorious line.
