Tasmanian-born Crown Princess Mary of Denmark has tested positive to Covid-19 amid a spike in the European country.
‘Her Royal Highness is staying in isolation at Frederik VIII’s Palace at Amalienberg. There is no indication that others in the family are infected,’ a spokesperson said.
‘In connection with the test result, the Royal House of Denmark is receiving advice from the Danish Patient Safety Authority concerning detection of infection.

‘The Crown Princess will remain in isolation until it is once again safe to end the isolation according to the applicable guidelines.’
Denmark was forced to reintroduce Covid-19 restrictions last week in response to soaring cases numbers as the Omicron variant takes hold.
School and colleges were forced to close, while children below grade 10 were directed to return to remote learning.
Bars, nightclubs and restaurants were also ordered to close before midnight in a crackdown that is expected to last four weeks.

The country is among one of the nations in the European Union to immunise children against Covid-19 with its booster shot program expected to begin an early rollout.
Crown Princess Mary was born in Hobart, and married Crown Prince Frederik after the pair met at the Sydney 2000 Olympics.
The couple share four children, Prince Christian, Princess Isabella, and twins Prince Vincent and Princess Josephine.
Their son Prince Christian tested positive for coronavirus in December last year.
