The Transport Secretary was being interviewed by BBC Breakfast’s Dan Walker, who kept directing questions back to the public’s lack of trust in government following recent claims. Mr Shapps seemed to be changing the topic to the vaccine and booster rollout as BBC viewers fumed that he is “taking us for fools” instead of answering Walker’s line of questioning.
It comes following evidence of multiples Christmas parties taking place within government last year as the UK was forced to “cancel Christmas” due to lockdown.
Walker attempted to get Mr Shapps to discuss his thoughts on the issue and kept steering back to the topic.
Unimpressed viewers quickly took to social media to comment on Shapps, with Twitter user Jo writing: “Oh for goodness sake, just answer the question. #bbcbreakfast.”
