Family group chats are perfect for sharing big news to loved ones.

But some households use it as a place to grill other family members, usually the older ones who don't understand memes.

Now one woman has shared a screenshot of a group chat which showed messages between herself and her brother Jordan.

Becca Moore, who posts under @beccamoore on Twitter, was ready to congratulate her brother on becoming a first-time dad.

However her mum was more interested in the status of her Amazon Prime Video account.

The first text on the screen from Jordan read: "At the hospital now."

To which Becca replied: "I'm so excited! Did you ask again if we can come?"

Jordan then told his sister that no one was allowed there but insisted there would be a lot of snaps of the baby's first days.

The siblings' mum then said: "Guys, why am I being charged for a Prime Video? I might cancel Prime sooner than I thought."

Alongside the picture, the Twitter user explained the situation behind the Amazon Prime drama.

She wrote: "My brother is having his first child this morning. But more importantly, someone rented a movie!"

In a follow-up tweet, the woman confessed that she was behind the Amazon Prime Video rental.

Becca added: "Fine. It was me who rented the movie. No one tell her please."

Her tweet has since gone viral as people can't stop giggling at her mum's sense of timing.

One Twitter user commented: "Your mum is iconic!"

Another added: "She already had kids, so I mean it's kind of understandable that the Amazon Video s*** is more important."

A third social media fan chimed in: "This shouldn't have been this funny."

Others found the screenshots quite relatable as one joked: "That's 100% how my mother is in the group chats."
