BBC Director-General Lord Hall’s £455,000 salary is revealed as he tops list of more than 100 senior executives and backroom staff who earned over £150k last year
Over 100 BBC fatcats are paid more than the Prime Minister, a report into the corporation’s bloated pay structure reveals today.
As well as the attention-grabbing salaries of presenters and TV stars, the broadcaster’s annual report shows the number of executives on more than £150,000 has increased over the last year.
A total of 98 corporate staff earned over £150,000, with nine others earning that much before they left in the last year. The Prime Minister earns £150,000.
Lord Hall, the director general, is the highest earning executive, on more than £450,000.
The huge wage bill will add to the calls of critics who say the BBC is spending too much on pay at a time when they are bringing back the licence fee for pensioners.
BBC director-general Lord Hall remained in the same wage bracket as he was last year, earning between £450,000 and £455,000
