Corrie cast at war with bosses
CORRIE bosses are facing a backlash after the soap’s stars were asked to help flog products for tiny fees.
Producers have signed placement deals with the likes of Costa Coffee, Co-op and EE.
A Costa shop opened on the cobbles three years ago, while hoardings advertising a new branch of phone firm EE in Weatherfield appeared in the summer.
But further collaborations with the brands sees ITV chiefs expecting the cast to promote companies by incorporating branded snacks and drinks into scenes and getting actors to pose with them.
Some are being offered just £100 a month to effectively give endorsements in front of millions of viewers.
A source said: “It’s an absolute joke — it’s insulting.
“Bosses are raking in tens of thousands for deals while they are getting the off-cuts.
“Some can command much bigger fees to promote products away from the show.”

It was reported in early 2020 that Fallon had split from boyfriend Tom Leech after a four year relationship.
Fallon and Leech had been living together since 2017.
During lockdown Fallon was interviewed by stylist Ryan Kay for his show, Talks with Ryan. When he asked her about her love life she said, "The love life. Wow that is the million dollar question I feel."
At the time she admitted to Kay that: "Love life is not really thriving I'm not going to lie. It's quite dead really. But it's fine. Everything happens for a reason."
But within just a few short months Fallon's love life turned a corner when she moved in with Preston North End footballer Ryan Ledson, 24, whose home is described as a mansion.
The couple are now Instagram official and have been spotted on holidays together.

Who is Lucy Fallon (continued…)
The age difference between mother and daughter was just 13 years, since Sarah Platt had her daughter at the age of 13 following an ill-fated relationship.
Speaking to the Sun in February 2017, Fallon addressed her sexual exploitation storyline.
She said: “I’m sure some people will say scenes like this shouldn’t be on TV before the watershed. But it’s really important that it is, because we want young girls to watch."
She won two British Soap Awards in 2018, one for Best Female Dramatic Performance and the other for Best Actress.
Fallon left Coronation Street in early 2020, announcing her decision to move away from the famous cobbles on Twitter.
She said: "After the most incredible four years, I have made the extremely difficult decision to leave Coronation Street at the end of my contract in 2020."
In 2021, Fallon started filming TV series Tom Jones alongside Alun Armstrong, Pearl Mackie and Felicity Montague.
The same year she took part in podcast Sour Hall.

EastEnders fans convinced Denny and Alyssa paternity twist is FAKE
EASTENDERS viewers were left open-mouthed earlier this week after Dennis Jr was confirmed as Alyssa’s mystery father – but some are sure that the paternity twist is fake.
Last year, the 13-year-old schoolboy died in a boating tragedy and young mum Jada admitted to his mum Sharon that he was the father of her baby – leaving her shellshocked.
During Thursday night’s revealing episode, Jada admitted: "It was a one-off – we were friends, but it was never really more than that."
However, fans are adamant that there could be another twist in store for Sharon, with many believing that Jada could be making up the whole thing altogether.
Taking to Twitter, one eagle-eyed viewer said: "I don't understand, Dennis died in February last year and Alyssa looks only a few months old.
“Either Jada had a very long pregnancy or Dennis ain't the father at all."
Echoing their comments, another fan added: "Wait, exactly how old is Jada? Cos Dennis Jr was only 13.
“Surely she would have read about his death in the paper/online months ago?”

Emmerdale spoilers: Chas Dingle flirts with Al Chapman during boozy dinner
CHAS Dingle flirts with her former flame Al Chapman as he plies her with a boozy dinner next week in Emmerdale.
The Woolpack landlady – played by Lucy Pargeter in the ITV soap – has been busy trying to save the pub from getting closed down.
Chef Marlon Dingle ended up selling his half of the business to Al in a bid to stop the pub from going bust.
But to make things awkward, as viewers will know, Chas went after Al earlier this year for an affair, but he rejected her because he was engaged to Priya Sharma.
In recent weeks the businessman has been offering up ideas that he thinks could help The Woolpack, but Chas isn't having any of it.
Next week Marlon and Chas' partner Paddy Kirk are left fuming when he finds out that Al has allowed his son Ellis to start working at the pub without running it past him first.
He gets even angrier when he invites a man called Trevor from a brewery in to taste his beers.
Unlucky for Marlon, Chas is left feeling quite impressed by Al's efforts, as well as Trevor's beer, so she agrees to invest in his brand.
Things get much worse when Al introduces a new uniform for all the staff to wear at the pub and can't help himself when he comments at how good Chas looks in it.

Corrie & Emmerdale fans livid as tonight’s episodes are cancelled
CORRIE and Emmerdale viewers have been left fuming as tonight’s instalments make way for football.
ITV plans to show England's 2022 World Cup qualification games, which will eat into some of Corrie’s regular slots.
England goes head to head with Albania on Friday, with a broadcast starting at 7pm (and kickoff at 7.45pm), and then San Marino on Monday at the same time.
One stomped up the warpath to write: “I have got to say that I am disgusted with ITV, the reason being you have taken off Coronation Street and Emmerdale for football. This has ruined mine and no doubt hundreds of other viewers’ viewing pleasure.”
“Keep the sport for ITV4 and let your viewers watch their regular programmes”, another demanded.
