Coronation Street favourite Carla Connor has been finding life incredibly difficult since the tragic death of her father Johnny.

The businesswomen is forced to take the time needed to mourn next week.

Johnny passed away unexpectedly after he attempted to save his ex-wife Jenny from an enormous sinkhole that emerged on the street.

But the heroic former Rovers Return landlord unfortunately met death in the process.

Carla's turmoil continues in upcoming scenes as she realises that she is struggling with her father's death.

While in the factory, Sarah Platt notices the Dexter order is due out to the States in two days’ time.

Feeling stressed and overwhelmed, Carla promises Sarah that she will sort it.

Noticing that something isn't right with her behaviour, Sarah talks to Peter Barlow about her boss.

Peter decides to pull Carla from her busy schedule and take her out for lunch as he admits that he’s worried about her and her welfare.

But once Carla realises that Peter got a tip off from Sarah, she becomes furious and hits out at Sarah for whining to Peter.

While sniping at Sarah, Carla announces that she will be taking two weeks holiday with immediate effect.

Due to the fact that they are rushed off their feet, Sarah is left horrified with Carla's abrupt announcement about taking annual leave at such short notice.

When Carla reveals she’s booked some time off to recuperate and deal with her grief. Peter’s overcome with relief.

Last month, several fans hoped Johnny would make it out of the sinkhole alive when he tried to rescue Jenny.

But the unfortunate events turned tragic when the sewer waters washed him away.

Finding out that her father was unable to make it out of the sinkhole alive, Carla broke down in tears once she heard the heart-breaking news.
