MARRIED At First Sight viewers were left fuming again tonight as E4 went off air on the All4 platform.

Online viewers were left perplexed after being greeted with an "off air" message and a blank screen.

One complained: "@All4 you need to fix E4 before i sue for emotional damages #MAFSUK."

Another said: "Is E4 just running late or is there a serious problem?"

Amid broadcasting issues last night, E4 apologised, tweeting: "We’re sorry some people are experiencing issues viewing #MAFSUK. Rest assured we’ll find a way for you to view it (including the subtitled version) as soon as we’re able. Follow @E4Tweets for updates as and when we know more."

It followed a weekend of disruption for Channel 4 that saw it suffer major connection failure.

The server connection issues hit thousands of viewers as firefighters rushed to the Broadcast Centre in White City shortly after 6.30pm to reports of a fire alarm going off in the building.

Thousands of problems with Freeview, Channel 4 and Channel 5 were reported at the same time on Downdetector.

Viewers said their screens were showing a still from a programme for about 25 minutes before returning to normal broadcasting.

Some social media users said they were experiencing a black screen with green lines.

More 4 was also showing flashing images, according to viewers, while others said Film4 and E4 were also affected.

One viewer said: "Is it just me, or is Channel 4, E4 and Film 4 not working on Freeview right now? I've got a frozen image on each channel!"

Another wrote: "Is there something wrong with Film4 and 4Music on Freeview in Kent? Film4 seems stuck on titles of a film and 4Music is just a load of squiggles."

A third said: "Is it just me or has @Film4 hung on the last movie credits for the last 30 minutes?"

Another joked: "I see there’s now a shortage of @Channel4 and @channel5_tv drivers…"

"Channel 4, Channel 5, E4, Film4, More4, 5USA, 4Music, Paramount network, Channel5+1, and 5Select all appear to be offline. Unclear what the issue is," one Twitter user added.

Channel 4 confirmed two channels were temporarily off air in a tweet.

In a statement, the brodacaster said: "Channel 4 and More 4 are currently off air due to a technical problem. We are working to restore them as quickly as possible."

A spokeswoman for the London Fire Brigade told The Sun Online: "We sent two fire engines to the scene. Crews carried out a search of the building and no fire was detected."
