Married At First Sight UK has returned to Channel 4 for an all-new series that has already seen some explosive and awkward moments for its newlyweds. In the latest instalment, Megan hit back at keyboard warriors who called her “evil” for cheating on husband Rob Voysey after she kissed Jordon Mundell at a dinner party.
Megan, from Stoke, has tried to make it clear that the scenes aired on the Channel 4 were purely an “edited version of events”.
The star took to Instagram urging her followers to “be kind” following their harsh criticism.
She said: “To everyone, remember our brides and grooms are real people with friends and family who are all reading your comments.
“We know this show can sometimes spark debate, but let’s all remember to #bekind.”
n the show, Jordan, 26, was paired with model Alexis by experts, and Megan married fun-loving Bob – but neither felt the spark with their partners.
During Thursday’s intense episode, the couple confessed they had locked lips at an event they attended with their spouses, which left Bob and Alexis devastated.
Many viewers were appalled by the revelation and lashed out at Jordan and Megan for their behaviour online.
“People entering a reality show isn’t your cue to spew hate,” Megan continued on her Instagram page. “Channel your energy into yourself and start your healing.”
“Only hurt people hurt people. And for that reason, I won’t be responding to any more negativity. My energy is more precious than that.”
However, Megan was made to take another stand on Instragram after fans of Married At First Sight UK lambasted the way she treated her husband Bob on the bombshell episode.
Megan insisted that people “quickly forget” about other stars who have passed away in the public eye and highlighted how social media can have a devastating effect on people’s mental health.
The defiant star shared a poignant set of photographs of some of Love Island stars who took their own lives after being on the dating programme following hurtful comments from the public.
Megan shared images of Love Island’s former presenter Caroline Flack, and contestants Mike Thalassitis and Sophie Gradon.
Her comment to accompany the pictures said: “We all have very short memories don’t we?”
However, Megan’s post backfired and Instagram users blasted her for being “disrespectful” for using photos of the late stars.
One of her followers said: “I don’t like writing negative comments on people’s posts, but this post seems really disrespectful and inappropriate!”
Another said: “I think using these pictures is so disrespectful!!! None of these beautiful people were in the same situation as you, you have been on our TVs all of five minutes and you’re making it clear as day what you wanted and that’s fame.”
