Whether your hair is blown out, in its natural state or in braids, this half updo is achievable for multiple hair textures. Part a section of your hair where your natural bangs are as well as a small section of the midsection of your hair and add a hair tie it with a bow. Finish off with edge control and swirl your baby hairs for something a little extra.

For those with shorter natural hair, this hairstyle lets your natural hair’s volume do the work. Use an Edge Control Brush or a rat tail comb to part the hair in the middle. Gather each side with a spray bottle and mousse or a holding gel. Make sure each side is even and tie each side with satin scrunchies.

You don’t have to spend a lot on this look. You can either blow out your hair with a hairdryer or tightly braid or wrap each side of your hair into buns. Depending on how big you want your tails, add one to two packs of braiding hair to each side with a hair tie. Finally, wrap the tied ends with any extra hair and tuck it secure it with bobby pins.

Again, use your hair’s natural volume to create a look. With a satin scrunchie, a puff cuff or by going DIY with a piece of a stocking, gather all the hair to the front of your head. Now, fluff that puff out with a pick.

If you can do your own faux lots, why not do it in a color? Leave it down, or throw it in a high messy bun, leaving out two locs as tendrils. Plus, the longer the locs, the bigger the bun.

These take time but are totally worth it to protect your hair. On washed hair, section and part your hair to medium or large parts. Use a hair mask or styling cream to braid two strands (you can cut one in half) of these jumbo Crochet Braids into your hair. Then, wrap another strand around the braid and the faux loc to make it thicker.

A twist on goddess braids with curls at the bottom, you can braid your hair into quads or threes on each side for a more dramatic braid style. Using curly braiding hair, you can achieve this look faster than ’90s microbraids.
