Aldi’s Specialbuys go on sale every Thursday and Sunday with some items immediately selling out due to their popularity. However, some products were delayed in May and June and are finally arriving in stores this month. Some of the items will be on sale from tomorrow.
Aldi has announced which Specialbuys items will be landing in store this month and in August.
Most of the products were expected to arrive in June, while some were supposed to be available in May.
Additionally, some products that were meant to land in stores earlier this week will not be available until later this month.
Disruptions in global shipping were to blame for the delays, according to Aldi.
The supermarket stated on its website: “Due to the current disruptions to global shipping, a number of Specialbuys may be delayed. We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause.
“We’re doing all we can to provide clarity on expected availability dates, but these are subject to change.
“Dates will vary by store and by region.”
Aldi recommended signing up to its newsletter for the latest updates on Specilabuys.
Back in April, the discount retailer announced that its delays were due to the blockage of the Suez Canal.
A container ship was stuck in the canal for almost a week, causing havoc to global trade.
However, the current situation could be because of a number of reasons, such as the ongoing Covid pandemic or the shortage in workers within the supply chain industry.
Many EU citizens have left the UK since the start of the pandemic, meaning that there are fewer lorry drivers to deliver stock to supermarkets.
Aldi has listed which items will be available in stores this month and in August, but some products’ dates are yet to be confirmed.
The German retailer does not yet know when the Children’s Bike Helmet, the Ladies’ and Men’s Performance Shorts, the Ladies’ Performance Bra, the Ladies’ Performance Tights, and the Bike Assembly Stand will be available to buy in stores.
Furthermore, Aldi has stated that most of the delayed products’ online availability is also yet to be confirmed.
In other Aldi news, the supermarket’s popular Velvet Scallop Armchair is back in stock, but with a new contemporary design.
Costing £129.99, customers can pick up the product in either pink or green.
It features a soft velvet seat and brushed gold-effect legs and frame.
