Coronation Street viewers couldn't get over how much little Ruby Dobbs had aged when the schoolgirl made a welcome return on Tuesday evening.
Ruby, played by Macy Alabi, hasn't been seen on the soap for a while, though her name has been frequently mentioned in conversation.
On Tuesday, Tyrone Dobbs was forced to tell his daughter her mum, Kirsty Soames, has died suddenly.
With the help of his ex Fiz Brown (Jenny McAlpine), Tyrone gently broke the news to Ruby, who has no relationship with her late mother.
The scene was an emotional one, as Tyrone battled conflicted feelings in informing Ruby of her mother's death.
Police officer Kirsty had been abusive towards Tyrone, with Fiz rescuing him from the violent relationship.
Kirsty's death stirred up old feelings, but viewers were more distracted by little Ruby's return to the small screen.
Taking to Twitter, viewers couldn't get over Ruby's growth spurt, remembering her as a tiny tot on the soap.
One wrote: "Ruby's, grown a fair bit since the last time we seen her!"
A second added: "Ruby is so big!"
"Blimey that news has aged Ruby by about 10 years," a third quipped.
And another, poking fun at the character's lack of screen time, added: "Ruby's been upstairs for months, I'm surprised she knows who Fiz and Tyrone are, let alone Kirsty, who she's not seen for years. #Corrie."
Later, Tyrone and Fiz headed to the undertakers to arrange Kirsty's funeral, though the mechanic found it hard to focus.
Earlier in the day, his girlfriend Alina Pop (Ruxandra Porojnicu) revealed she is pregnant, holding up a positive test in an emotional outburst.
Tyrone, unable to process his emotions, scuttled off to the funeral appointment without uttering a word.
Later, Tyrone came to terms with the news and told Alina he wanted to raise a family with her, leaving her relieved.
How will Fiz feel when she learns Tyrone has fathered another child?
Coronation street continues on Wednesday at 8pm on ITV.
