Taylor Swift has made history yet again.

The 31-year-old songstress is set to receive the Global Icon award at the 2021 Brit Awards, making her the first female artist to receive the accolade.

The Global Icon award is “the highest accolade given and is reserved for truly exceptional artists” and Swift will be the fourth recipient after Elton John (2014), David Bowie (2016) and Robbie Williams (2017).

In the announcement, the BRITs said Swift was being recognized for “her immense impact on music across the world and incredible repertoire and achievements to date.”

The “cardigan” singer is also up for the international female solo artist award at the ceremony.

The 2021 BRIT Awards will be held on Tuesday, May 11.
